James Fulham
Business transformation. Process first.
Performance problems are not solved by more technology, more reporting, or more pressure. They are solved by fixing the underlying process base.
25 years fixing cost, management, and execution problems at operating scale — in manufacturing, medtech, telecoms, and financial services.
By the numbers
Problems I help fix
- A cost base that will not come down
- A leadership team that is busy but not accountable
- An ERP, AI or transformation programme that is drifting
- Growth that needs throughput, not more headcount
- An investment pipeline without clear ROI, owners, or discipline
- Compliance obligations that live outside day-to-day operations
How I work
I go in as one senior operator — not a team. I diagnose quickly, in days or weeks rather than months. I deliver a plain-English read on what is actually wrong, what to fix first, and who needs to do it. Where it helps, I stay on to do the work with your team.
No juniors on the file. No discovery phase dressed up as a project. No deck factory. No generic frameworks.
What you can expect
What you will not get
- A 40-slide diagnostic deck
- A junior team running the engagement
- A recycled methodology with your logo on it
- A three-month discovery phase before anything is fixed
- Language that sounds clever and means nothing
What you get instead
- A direct, senior read on what is actually wrong
- A short, specific list of things to fix, in order
- A simple operating structure your team can carry
- Hands-on help where it is needed
- Plain English throughout
The view I work from
People do not fail, systems do.
Most performance problems are the predictable output of how work is organised, how decisions get made, and how accountability is set. Fix that base, and results follow. Layer tooling on top of a weak base, and nothing lasts.
That is why so many AI, ERP and transformation programmes stall. The technology is rarely the real problem.
